Really love your commitment to the comic influence — in a way, this poem is a comic, advancing itself in word and image.

I’m most interested in the sexual intrigue our spider man has mythology. I suspect there is an ugly narcissism at the center of it, as he names characters that were also normal/accepted and then turned into monsters (much like himself). It’s like he’s aroused by the arc of his person (instead of any actually persons, like Mary).

Had Mary been bitten by something ugly, maybe she’d be sexy too.

Thank you Rob! I’m finding a lot of possibilities in the comic to investigate in my poetry. I’m somehow dangerously close to end up in the monster erotica genre 😂 ahaha

That’s interesting. I’ve recently been looking more into comics for inspiration, especially after the comic based erasure collage I did. Might ask you about some comic related things soon
