Tea Time with Dr. Rum

Killing time

     Dr. Rum 
             pours 
               tea 
               for 
            Pierrot

Time is killing us...
and we retaliate by
killing time,
the cicle of retribution
and blood feuds
we call "Life"—
we're we take some time
to have tea...

              Pierrot nods, 
       warming blue hands
           on his cup, 
               the calm sea 
                 they sway upon

And it's gone so long
that these time-outs
are well of rule,
peace treaties, 
commonly understood,
and respected without need of drafts
etched in word-wise quarrel,
just a sigh...

    as they float 
 'bove the flood,
Pierrot blows off 
      his tea 
                 
...that's enough
to know
we can take some time off 
war...

     Pierrot sips contentedly his cup,
 sight full of water
